Well as you can guess from the name this post will be about Anime Boston and as the day or in this case days come near (March 21st-23rd), I thought it might be nice to enlighten the people about the convention.
This event happens to be the biggest thing the Anime Club does during the year and kind of also our "thing" since we run things along with the Sci-Fi Cub most of the time, of course there are the screenings but there not as often as we want them to be but thats because of scheduling issues... well anyway back to Boston.
Some people (which were very few) seem to have attended the New York Anime Festival, which personally I didn't attend but from what i heard its kinda of similar in terms of the inside experience but the huge difference its that you had to walk home unlike in Boston were you have to take the elevator to your rooms which would be interesting as you meet many interesting people there. Another big point is also that Anime Boston goes throughout the night which allows you to enjoy it to the fullest as you most likely will only be in your rooms to sleep which, if you really enjoy the convention, will be around 2:00AM as i think that might be curfew, which unfortunately you have since its still a school trip.
Well anyway.... we have also seems that many of you have actually been interested in cosplaying which there is actually a lot of in Anime Boston, you will see everything you may want to see and some which you may not want to. Also if your really into it you might want to attend the masquerade to see professionals cosplayers, at least some of them. Well anyway, you can see by yourself how big cosplaying is in the following sites (they happen to be personal albums from people who attended AB so yeah... just so you know)
Random person's album
Yet another random person's album
And yet another one....
And finally the last one
Well, even if cosplaying doesn't interest you there is still the Dealer's Room, which kind of gives you access to imported and rare stuff from anime you've watched or any other collectibles for a "reasonable" price. Well I don't know if Doc already had the meeting to you guys about the trip and the details but to kind of touch on it, you guys will be spending most of your money in this place in average people take around $200 but if you guys kind of think you'll go all out might as well bring around $500 as some people have and even had to borrow money to sustain their needs for more stuff >.>.
Well anyway thats about the biggest things Boston will offer aside from the non-stop anime screenings and the random games you will experience (support the duck, duck, goose games.. lol). Well anyway I hope you guys got something out of this post but you guys would most likely be having a meeting about this if you already haven't had one. Well for all those going to Boston.. be sure to keep your eyes out for Jesus.
**As a final serious note, rest of Anime Boston money will be due by February**

Jesus yelled at me a couple years ago.
What did Tim do to provoke the wrath of Jesus?
I told him I loved his book. He said he had nothing to do with it.
LOL. I can imagine Jesus at anime Boston. LOL an anime jesus. I might just draw one for no reason.
Well, some more news: the price of Anime Boston has been jacked to $364, so you'll need to bring in a $214 dollar check, plus meals now aren't included, so you need to bring your own money for food and the other stuff. Also, don't forget about the Art Tables, Game Rooms, Panels, and Guests of Honor.
I have a few questions pertaining on how you found out about this news. Where did you learn that the amount was to increase. Secondly if food is not included then this would then the price is way to overpriced. Even if food is included it would still be overpriced. The fact is that when I registered for Anime Boston the price was $340 and we are staying another day. This price also doesn't cover food or transportation. Because of this I find your news highly suspicious and I want a complete explanation.
He means who the hell told you that info? I also want to know since a price increase + no food is plain retarded
um.... april fools oO?????
seriously that much of an increase PLUS no food covered? Sorry John but I smell bullshit or perhaps you heard something wrong. and especially without everyone else knowing something THAT important.
No, I heard it from Doc, because I was talking to him last week. I think there was someone else there, but I'm not sure. I am sure about the price increase, though, and that there is no food, unless something came up over the past days. H---, you can even ask Doc in e-mail. But, I believe it does cover transport.
Now, the reason why: if I'm correct, Doc told me it was because the hotel became increasingly booked. That's it, then and there. If you have any nitty-pitty comments, e-mail me at jbstormburst@yahoo.com, but please refrain from cursing.
